Volvo and British Triathlon were looking for a series of cinematic documentary films for the Human Made Stories series to showcase their partnership, featuring high profile triathletes such as The Brownlee Brothers, John McAvoy and Lauren Steadman.

Volvo Car UK is the Official Vehicle Partner of British Triathlon, reflecting their shared values including care for both the environment and those within it, a sense of adventure and empowering people to enjoy active lifestyles. With that in mind, they were looking for a series of films showcasing top athletes and their very different and inspiring stories.

Director James Lovick, renowned for his cinematic storytelling, came on board to craft the films and worked with DOP Ruaraid Achilleos to produce stunning results. Logistically the films were challenging; having just a single day to film each story, we engineered the shoots to allow for aesthetic interview locations combined with high energy tracking shots of the athletes in action. Utilising both ground tracking and drone footage, the films demonstrate beautifully both the talent and incredible stories of these impressive athletes.
